We all need a good night’s sleep to regenerate, to process the day’s events, to rest, and to have energy for the next day but too often there is limited time, too much to do, and we are woken before we are ready to get up. Use these ways to enable quality sleep…

Your sleeping environment needs these important features;
Your sleeping environment needs to be quiet – noise from the outside world, from the TV, from your phone, or from other people needs to be silenced or minimised.
Noise can trigger thoughts in our brains and those thoughts can trigger other thoughts and this can prevent us from falling asleep and can wake us up during the night.
Turn off devices at night, block out sounds from outside or wear ear plugs to block out the noises that can prevent sleep.
Your sleeping environment needs to be dark – Light from our phones and devices, from street lights, cars, and from the sun can trigger Mindbody states that prevent us from sleeping and can wake us up.
Invest in heavy curtains to block the outside light from coming in and turn off devices at night.
Your sleeping environment needs to be cool – warm temperatures at night combined with a duvet can make us uncomfortable and can prevent sleep.
Ensure the room where you sleep is a cool temperature.
Your sleep environment needs to set up correctly – If your bed is squeaky or creaky or is too small or if the springs stick in to your body or there is not enough space for you to stretch out or for you and your partner then this will prevent you from sleeping and may wake you up.
Pillows that are too flat or too big will cause your head to be in the wrong position to your spine and this may cause problems and prevent quality sleep. Your pillow depth should have your head in line with your spine.
Ensure you have the bed and bedding to ensure you sleep well.
